This set of journal entries begins with a recent trip to Mexico and how the experience has settled into my mind. I use Moleskine journals as a place to try out media, visual vocabulary and different ways of melding verbal message and image. Some pages follow sequentially, and others take a narrative leap in ways that perhaps only I can understand. At any one time I keep half a dozen journals going. The intention is not to create a page-perfect book, but to create a dialogue with myself in a way that opens doors to ideas. There is something about the shape and feel of the Moleskine basic sketchbook that seems to invite a creative state of mind. Most entries incorporate my photography and a combination of collage, original letterforms, rubber stamps, image transfer, drawing and various methods of painting. On occasion I may use found imagery from the news or the street. To see another journal, called Wayfinding, please visit my Flickr page at http://www.flickr.com/photos/31700054@N05/
